First off, I had to go to the website to see if it was Tik Tok or TikTok. That’s how out of touch I am. But I’ve joined TikTok and I’m still kinda wondering why I have. But one of my videos did blow up, so am I TikTok famous?
By blow up, I mean 100K views. Seems big to me. Nothing near the range of these kiddies knocking out 1M views per day.
You won’t find me lip synching or dancing (at least I hope so unless my daughter forces me to). But I’m trying a different approach with videos I find along my TV News journey.

For instance, I was posting videos of viral moments that did great on Facebook – but they got crickets on TikTok. Then I just started posting videos from the NFL Experience in Tampa and the views jumped wildly.
So I think TikTok just wants genuine, interesting moments. That’s fine. So in the next week while covering the NFL Experience, I’ll try just that.
Don’t ask me what I get if I get a lot of views. Branding is important, but unless you’re selling something – I guess we’re all here for the views. Blech. ????
