If you’re an Apple fan, by now you’re either standing in line waiting to buy the iPhone 5, or if you’re like me, you’re ‘sitting this one out’ and enjoying the new operating system (iOS6) on your iPhone 4S or older models.
The new iOS is loaded with 200+ features that will beef up your iPhone. There’s something for everyone, no matter what your interests.
I discovered the Passbook app and was very intrigued. But I couldn’t get by the ‘could not connect to iTunes’ message in order to download. Curses. A glitch already. Luckily, I’ve discovered a little workaround. It’s a bit strange, but it works. We’ll have to wait until the update comes out for the fix, I’m sure.
> Open Settings.
> Open General.
> Open Date & Time.
> Switch Set Automatically to Off.
> Open Set Date & Time.
> Set the date to a year ahead.
> Go to Home screen, open Passbook.
> Tap App Store button. App should load.
> Go back to Date & Time.
> Turn on Set Automatically.
I’m excited to test out Passbook and learn how it works. I’ll post more when I do. For now, most reviewers say there isn’t much to use. I assume Apple has paved the way to make the app an integral part of life (like the phone itself). Maybe one day attendants will say, Passport, er, Passbook…sir? Never know.
Get on board!
This doesn’t work dude!
Try changing the year to 2013. Hard restart the phone. Go in and change it back to auto time and that should do it. Everyone I’ve talked with had success. Good luck.
